New Head Chef brings local flavour to the Stonehouse Court Hotel

Darren Le Feuvre has been appointed as the new Head Chef at the Stonehouse Court Hotel, bringing with him an impressive wealth of experience and an unrivalled passion for local Cotswold produce and specialties.

Darren grew up in Stroud and started his career as a chef 15 years ago after having trained at Cheltenham College. He has held roles in some of the best hotels and restaurants in the Cotswolds, including the Halfway House in Box and the prestigious Michelin starred kitchens of the Lords of the Manor Hotel in Upper Slaughter and Hunstrete House near Bath. He was awarded 3 AA Rosettes in his role as Head Chef at the Pennyhill Park Hotel in Bagshot Surrey.

Darren's local knowledge serves him well when it comes to using the finest, freshest ingredients the region has to offer when preparing his Modern British menus. Commenting on his method, Darren said: "My cooking style is fresh and combines fine blends of flavours with traditional cooking methods to prepare delicious dishes such as my 15 hour Gloucestershire Old Spot pork belly. Wherever possible I use suppliers from within a 30 mile radius. I like to know exactly where my ingredients come from and how they are produced. This is key to the end quality of the food and of course, mindful of our environment and supportive of local businesses."

Darren plans to put Stonehouse Court firmly on the culinary map in 2010 introducing new menus to tempt and inspire guests with fresh ideas and exciting ingredients. He is inspired by the history and beauty of the hotel to create an unforgettable dining experience for hotel guests and local visitors alike.
